On October 20, 2024, the seminary community gathered to celebrate World Mission Sunday, a day dedicated to deepening the Church’s mission of evangelization. This year’s theme, “Go and Invite everyone” to the Banquet” (Matthew 22:9), underscored the universal call to share the joy of the Gospel with all people.

The day began with a vibrant Eucharistic celebration in the seminary chapel, presided over by Rev Fr. Christopher Ojo. In his homily, he highlighted the inclusivity of the Gospel invitation, encouraging everyone to embrace missionary zeal and reach out to those in need of Christ’s love.

Interaction with the Archdiocese of Ibadan Youth

One of the most memorable moments of the celebration was the interactive session between the youth of the Archdiocese of Ibadan and the seminarians. This dynamic exchange provided a platform for young people to share their perspectives on evangelization.

The last session began with an icebreaker activity that fostered camaraderie, followed by an interactive session on the basketball court, featuring seminarians and youth representatives. The activities ranged from cultural display to aerobic display not forgetting a stellar performance from the HCA.

The interaction between the Archdiocese of Ibadan youth and the seminarians brought a renewed sense of purpose and collaboration to the event. It highlighted the vital role of young people in the Church’s mission and strengthened the bond between the seminary and the wider community.

As the day concluded, those present left inspired to take the message of World Mission Sunday into their daily lives, spreading the joy of the Gospel and extending Christ’s invitation to all.
