In his homily, Rev. Fr. Michael Chiaha described Fr. Aniaga as “a providential and joyful priest,” emphasizing his selfless service and commitment to the Church and the seminary. He drew inspiration from the day’s Gospel Magnificat, describing it as a fitting reflection of gratitude and divine faithfulness in the celebrant’s life.
Following the Mass, the reception commenced in the Seminary Auditorium. The event opened with prayers led by Rev. Fr. Anthony Omolade and an opening address by the Rector, Very Rev. Fr. Anthony Igbekele, who lauded Fr. Aniaga’s 17 years of dedicated service to the seminary community since his appointment as Spiritual Director in 2008 and in the same vein, welcomed all invited guests and friends of the celebrant.
Guests were treated to a variety of cultural performances, including dances by the Igbo and Yoruba liturgico-cultural groups and a drama presentation by the Spring Theatre Group. The peak of the celebration included the toast led by Rev. Fr. Joseph Akinbinu, cake-cutting coordinated by Rev. Sr. Florence Osho, and a lively dance session led by the Silver Jubilarian.

Gifts and tributes were presented by seminarians, formators, non-academic staff, Ibadan Archdiocesan C.W.O, and other groups. In his response, Fr. Aniaga expressed heartfelt gratitude to God, the Archbishop, the Rector, his brother priests, and all attendees.
The celebration concluded with closing remarks by the Vice Rector, Very Rev. Fr. Hubert Opara, and a vote of thanks by Very Rev. Fr. Melchizedek Okpala.
